Privacy Policy

We collect only what is necessary to operate the service. This falls into two categories:

• Usage data: Browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps — collected automatically via server logs and analytics to understand how people use the site.
• Detection requests: Text submitted for analysis is processed in real time. It is not stored in any database, not linked to your identity, and not retained after the scan completes.

We do not collect names, email addresses, account credentials, or payment information. There are no user accounts on Canvas AI Checker.

Usage data is used exclusively to:

• Monitor site performance and identify technical issues
• Understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g., which features are most used)
• Improve detection accuracy and page loading speed
• Prevent abuse and protect service availability

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we do not sell it to third parties under any circumstances.

Submitted text: Not retained. Processing occurs in memory only. No copy is written to disk or stored in a database.

Server logs: Retained for up to 30 days for security and performance monitoring, then automatically deleted.

Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized; retained for up to 12 months to track long-term trends.

We use a minimal set of cookies:

• Essential cookies: Needed for the site to function (session management, security tokens). Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: Used to count visits and measure feature usage anonymously. You can disable these in your browser settings.

We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing pixels, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads conversion tracking, or similar ad network tools.

Canvas AI Checker uses a small number of trusted third-party services to operate:

• Cloudflare: CDN, DDoS protection, and DNS. Cloudflare may log IP addresses per their own privacy policy.
• Google Fonts: Loaded via Google’s CDN. Google may record font requests. No personal data from our service is shared with Google.
• AI detection provider: Text submitted for scanning is sent to our AI detection API. The API processes the request and returns a score. No persistent copy is stored on the provider’s end under our service agreement.

Clicking “Get Full Report” on results will redirect you to a third-party partner site. That site’s own privacy policy governs any data collected there. We recommend reviewing their policy before proceeding.

Canvas AI Checker is frequently used by ESL (English as a Second Language) students and international learners. We are aware that writing style flags can disproportionately affect non-native English writers.

We do not share any detection results or submitted content with academic institutions, instructors, or any third parties. This tool is designed for personal self-checking only. Results remain entirely private to the session.

No data from student usage is used to train AI models.

Because we do not collect personal data or link usage to individual identities, most data subject requests (access, deletion, portability) do not apply — there is no personal record to retrieve or delete.

If you believe we may hold personal data about you (e.g., via a support inquiry), you may request access or deletion by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

EU/EEA users: Our legal basis for processing server logs is legitimate interests under GDPR Article 6(1)(f) — specifically, maintaining service security and stability.
